Danish duo Hvass & Hannibal has to be one of my all-time favorite studios. Founded by Sofie Hannibal and Nan Na Hvass, the house style is colorful, geometric, faceted, abstract. From editorial illustration to tapestries to stage designs, Hvass & Hannibal approach their projects with a sense of artistry.
Album artwork is a designer/illustrator’s playground, and that’s no exception for Hvass & Hannibal:

“The Years” —Green Lives

“Rumspringa” — Canon Blue

For a Japanese post-rock band named number0

“Veil Waltz” EP — Clogs

“Ghost of a Chance” — Turboweekend. This is not mere Photoshop trickery: Hvass & Hannibal constructed the orb from colored paper. Photo by Brian Buchard.
Hvass & Hannibal were nominated by the talented Susan Murphy. Check out more of their work in their portfolio and shop.
