
In a trend cycle where “flat” is favored, it’s nice to see someone doing interesting things with texture. Simone Noronha is a designer-illustrator currently working at Franklyn, a Brooklyn-based creative studio. In her recent work on Funnelcake, an educational iPad app, Simone pairs retro-feeling texture with pitchy colors for some interesting results:
