New Studio Site from Guts & Glory

Guts & Glory, an Oakland-based studio founded by Faun Chapin and Meg Paradise, just launched a new, deeply immersive studio site. Like the studio’s capabilities—traditional branding, design work, political activism and product development—the website spans quite a bit.

The new site is split up into categories (introduction to the studio philosophy, about the branding process, a portfolio of work, bios, a coming-soon shop, and a link out to Tumblr), most of which have several screens or subsections to peruse through.

While at times the site can feel like a lot of scrolling—particularly if your browser window is huge and you’re diligently scrubbing along with a Wacom tablet mouse—there is so much richness to look at. It’s an interesting contrast to the slick, white-as-a-gallery approach most studios seem to employ as of late. The Guts & Glory site has plenty of vintagey goodness to compliment their ideas:

I respect their seizing the opportunity for real client education. “Branding” can feel like a vague concept if that’s not the world you live in every day.

And their work section is equally as conceptually-themed:

Check out the rest of the site, and click around in their portfolio section for more great work!
