Lettering, design for NYU Langone’s “Made for New York” campaign • Art direction/design by Munn Rabot, Louise Fili • Gold leafing by Bob Gamache
Kelly Thorn, letter and designer at Louise Fili Ltd, is one of several wonderfully-talented ladies nominated by Jillian Adel. She also just happens to be one of the competitors in today’s Type Fight, go check out her K!
Kelly’s work finds great application on the usual suspects: greetings cards, wedding invites, inspirational quotes. What I love about her work is that it also translates to high-polish branding systems. The Corbeaux wordmark looks so good as physical signage:
Identity for Corbeaux Bakehouse • Design, lettering, illustration • Art direction: Louise Fili
More pieces from Kelly:
One of several designs for Cardtorial’s laser-cut wood boxes. Kelly also got to choose the type of wood and stain for each box!
Surprise insert poster for Nibblr snack packages • Lettering, illustration, design • Art direction: Dana Tanamachi
Branding/logo system for Tanamachi Goods ( a Dana Tanamachi collab line with Target) • Lettering, design • Art direction: Dana Tanamachi
An invite for Dana Tanamachi’s wedding • Lettering, illustration, design • Art direction: Dana Tanamachi. At first glance, I thought this was mostly a typeface that she had typeset, but EVERYTHING is manually lettered. Kelly is hoping to turn this into a typeface soon and is looking for naming ideas.
