Fellow leftie Jackie Ferrentino is a freelance illustrator and currently the first illustration fellow for Nautilus, a contemporary science magazine that zeroes in on one issue each month. Among the subsets of Jackie’s illustration style—which also captures delightfully sausage-fingered, old-timey characters—her most textural style is a great match for Nautilus. The magazine is (successfully) simple in its layout and typography, so Jackie’s work adds a richness and depth to a publication for curious minds.
At time of writing, this warm illustration for the identity issue is the first thing to greet you on the Nautilus website—and on the table of contents in the magazine.
