Some people are just so good, the only proper response to their portfolio is: “yup”. One of these fantastic designer-illustrators is Ayaka Ito, who works for RoAndCo, a lady-run studio we’ve previously featured on the blog. You can see evidence of the house style in Ayaka’s work: clean and simple with an edge—and a penchant for gold foil.

Besides designing identity systems and art directing fashion materials, Ayaka also produces illustrations in lush detail:

This illustration was so intricate it had to be hand-carved onto a copper plate for printing. Interesting case study, check it out.

Very interesting approach for a web developer’s branding. Warm and classic, not what you’d expect for a tech identity.

Ayaka’s website (it itself pretty new) has an Easter egg that appears to be time-based, so go ahead and spend a good chunk of time looking at all her lovely work.
